What counts as an AI action?
One AI action is one tool call: for example, listing your posts, editing one page, uploading one image or running one audit. A request like “fix the meta descriptions on my five newest posts” usually takes six or seven actions (one to find the posts, then one edit each). Reading is counted the same as writing. The count resets every day at midnight UTC, and nothing is charged beyond your plan: when you reach the limit, WPMate tells your AI and stops until the next day.
Pricing questions
Is the Starter plan really free?
Yes. Starter is free with no time limit and no card required. It includes one WordPress site and 100 AI actions a day. You also need your own Claude or ChatGPT account; WPMate does not include an AI subscription.
Do I need a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan?
WPMate is added as a connector in your AI assistant. Which Claude and ChatGPT plans can add connectors is decided by Anthropic and OpenAI and can change, so check your assistant's settings. WPMate itself works the same on every plan.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Yes. Open Billing in your WPMate dashboard to switch between Pro and Agency or between monthly and yearly (prorated), update your card, download invoices or cancel. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes, for your first paid payment: email support@wpmate.ai within 14 days of it for a full refund. Renewals aren't refundable except where the law requires, but you can cancel any time to stop future renewals. Details are in the Terms of Service.
Can I switch my free site to a different website?
No. The Starter plan is for one website: the first site you connect stays your Starter site. You can disconnect and reconnect that same site any time, but using a different website needs Pro. If you move the same site to a new domain, email support@wpmate.ai and we'll update it.
What happens to my sites if I downgrade to Starter?
Nothing on your WordPress sites changes and your daily limit drops to 100 AI actions. Starter works with one website, so your AI can keep working on the first site you use after downgrading; your other sites stay connected and work again when you upgrade.
Is there a discount for agencies or nonprofits?
